“Had to stop for an overnight stay before a long road trip. The check in was fast and easy. The guy checking me in was efficient and polite with everything. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The parking lot was well lit and seemed secure. Would recommend to anyone needing a quick stay.”
“I travel all the time and usually stay at hotels and Airbnbs. This hotel was like no other. Les, the property manager at SureStay by Best Western took great care for my stay and went above and beyond. He was easy to talk to, hospitable, and he was also very respectful and was attentive at finding answers. Housekeeping was also kind and welcoming. Everything at the stay was clean and the stay was quiet. Definitely recommend if you are staying in San Francisco.”
“I just want to take a moment to shout out Les, the property manager at SureStay by Best Western Castro Valley. Not only is he professional and hospitable, but he truly goes above and beyond to accommodate guests whose situations may be a little different than others. That level of understanding and respect isn’t common, and it absolutely matters. Les is always friendly, approachable, and solution-oriented. The rooms are consistently clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. The entire property has a welcoming, positive vibe that makes you feel safe and respected. On top of that, the entire front desk and housekeeping staff deserve recognition. They’re always friendly, extremely helpful, and professional. You can tell the team works together to keep the place running smoothly and to make guests feel genuinely cared for. If you’re staying in the area and want somewhere clean, welcoming, and managed by someone who actually cares, this is it. -MJ”
“Booked a one night stay while working in a different city & was very pleased with my stay. When you check in at the front desk, the staff will greet you promptly and the check in process takes less than 5 minutes as long as you’ve made a reservation. They did inform me that they were worried I was coming for a walk in, but were relieved when I said I had a reservation. This location seems to be fairly popular and doesn’t have a ton of last minute vacancies! Best to plan ahead. The lobby is small, but they offer water bottles all day and a continental breakfast in the mornings. They have toast, pastries, coffee, juice, yogurt (which just so happened to be protein yogurt at that time!), and oatmeal. My single bed room was HUGE! Lots of floor space, decently sized restroom. The only thing that was strange to me was that the sink was not in the bathroom, it was closer to the entryway. Also, parking is super easy and there’s a ton of it! The room was kept fairly clean. I was very happy to see that there was no grime/buildup in the bathtub specifically. I’d happily stay here again whenever I find myself in Hayward/CV!”
“Overall, we had a really good stay here and would definitely consider staying again. Check-in was great — the guy at reception loved having a chat, which suited me perfectly after a long time on the road. It made the whole arrival feel welcoming and relaxed rather than just transactional. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed. WiFi worked well, the location was convenient, and the breakfast selection in the morning was honestly impressive for the price point. Definitely better than expected and a nice way to start the day. The only real issue during our stay was that the gas supply had failed, meaning there was no hot water available. Unfortunately, the company meant to repair it was running late and apparently couldn’t even be contacted properly. Normally this probably wouldn’t have been a huge deal, but we’re travelling by car and car camping a lot of the trip, so one of the main reasons we booked the hotel was specifically to have proper hot showers. In the morning, the situation was explained to us clearly by staff, and to their credit they handled it professionally. Since we needed to leave earlier than the estimated repair time, they gave us a refund without any hassle, which we really appreciated. As it turned out, the repair company didn’t even arrive back until much later anyway. Even with the hot water issue, the staff handled things well and the overall experience was still positive. Good room, good breakfast, good WiFi, friendly service, and a convenient location. We’d definitely stay again.”
